The University of Manitoba Concrete Canoe Team is composed of engineering students from all years of study and multiple disciplines. Each year the team has approximately 20-30 students who volunteer their time to design and construct the canoe.

The Concrete Canoe team is entirely student-run, where our funding only comes from membership fees, hosting fundraisers, university funding programs and industry sponsorship. That’s why you as sponsors are so important to us, we wouldn’t be able to compete without you! Although most organizations choose to support UMCCC through monetary sponsorship, material and service supply donations are always welcome. We greatly appreciate all monetary and in-kind contributions. Below is a chart to show a break-down of this year’s expenses and why your support is essential.

As UMCCC is still a new team and are still going through some startup problems and growing pains, but these will decrease over the years. However, even with that in mind, our greatest expenses are directly associated with the 2023 Canadian National Concrete Canoe Competition (CNCCC) in London, Ontario. Not only do we need to register for the event, but we are also responsible for travel, accommodations, and safely shipping our canoe to Ontario. Without sponsorship, we wouldn’t be able to build a canoe, let alone send people to competition, that’s why you support is so important to us!
